HMI VACANCY - Maintenance Officer

About the business and the role

Our vision is to be a leading New Zealand Hockey Association on and off the turf. With strong growth in both winter and summer hockey, we are now looking to appoint a part-time Maintenance Officer. 

The Maintenance Officer will assist us in delivering quality hockey experiences by ensuring that our facilities are clean, safe, and well maintained throughout the year. 



Job tasks and responsibilities

Key responsibilities for the role includes:

  1. Maintaining the twin turfs, goals, dugouts and surrounding areas
  2. Cleaning and and maintaining changing rooms, dugouts,  and public toilets
  3. Removal of rubbish
  4. Maintaining lawns and surrounding areas
  5. Maintaining all signage
  6. Cleaning and maintaining the pavilion exterior
  7. Maintaining the turf water system
  8. General maintenance and handyman activities as required
  9. Health & Safety 




Skills and experience

Core capabilities:

  • Groundsman and caretaker experience 
  • Financial management and the ability to work within a  budget
  • Relationship management and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
