In term 1 2018 Kāhui hockey Manawatu organizes the following secondary school development programs for players of all ages and abilities.
1. Get into the seasons with your friends ( Y9-Y13)
This 5- weeks programme starts in March. The key words of these 1-hour training's are friends, fun and development on those parts you would like to get better. The training will be relaxed, social and at the same time you will learn heaps to get prepared for upcoming winter season. The training is open to secondary school players of all ages and abilities. 2. 2theMaxx Year 9
This 6 weeks programme starts in February. The programme is open to all Year 9 players who have 1 or more years’ hockey experience. It's 1,5 hours full on training, where we create a fun and challenging environment to improve your skill level and game awareness. 3. 2theMaxx PRO (Y10, sometimes Y11)
This 6-week programme starts in February. It’s open for players who are 14 (turning 15) and have been playing hockey for 2 years or more. Also 2nd year U15 Rep players are invited. In this programme you can experience what it is to train like a PRO; you will get tested to monitor your progression, you learn how to set goals and focus on achieving your goals and there is time to specialize yourself in a PC skill. Ability doesn’t matter; commitment, love to go hard on trainings to get the best out of yourself and taking ownership of your development is far more important. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO/REGISTRATION
4. Let’s get the basics right for Goalies Y9 & 10

5. Central /REP U18 Prep programme
A U18 programme which prepares you for the trials of school, club, Central and REP. The higher level you play, the more other features becomes important. Thus, this programme doesn’t only offer you hockey trainings, but also mental training from Gary Hermansson (sport psychologist who went to 5 Olympics and Common Wealth games). There are also workshop around life style skills, like a workshop around “energy management” (from Helen Regan, athlete life Advisor of High Performance Sport New Zealand) and morning routines at tournaments.
